Since the early 1990s, Mr. Novelli has held senior operating roles in

Healthcare organizations in both the for-profit and not-for-profit domains.

The companies where he held executive roles during these years were

Aetna, PacifiCare (now owned by United Health Care), and, Blue Shield

of California. While at Blue Shield, he was Executive Vice President of

Operations and Marketing, where he reported directly to the Chairman

and CEO of this nine billion dollar health plan, and his division included

over half of the employees of this 5000 employee company. His

responsibilities in this role included administrative operations (Claims,

Service, and Enrollment) as well as Marketing, Product Development, and

e-business.

In his most recent assignments, Bob served as Chief operating officer for a

National Home Care Management company, CareCentrix, and in 2012

he was the Chief Operating Officer for one of the 32 national Pioneer

ACO contractors, Heritage California ACO, in Southern California. This

Accountable Care organization is the largest Pioneer ACO in the country

with almost 80,000 Medicare Fee for Service Beneficiaries.

During his years as a Healthcare executive, Mr. Novelli successfully

upgraded Information Technology platforms and moved business to the

Internet. His accomplishments in Marketing include a successful re-

branding of a conservative “Blue” health plan into an edgy, more

progressive company persona. He has also led major mergers and

acquisitions of health plans as the industry moved along the consolidation

trend. He has excelled at building high-performing leadership teams, who

take accountability for developing quality processes that lead to

profitable growth and customer loyalty.

Mr. Novelli graduated with a B.A. from Marquette University, and earned

an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at

Northwestern University. He has been a Board member for the American

Heart Association, Western States Affiliates, and most recently was

installed as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for San Francisco Foster

Children.
